PLEASE READ BEFORE PLACING AN ORDER:
Being a natural oak timber product, our floating shelves are supplied fully sanded and ready to treat. American white oak tends not to have no knots or splits; however, small knots and splits may be present due to the natural development in the wood and shelf sizes can vary slighlty. If you prefer not to have these or need an exact size please contact us to check our stock before ordering.
The oak shelf should be mounted onto a solid brick or concrete block work wall using the fixings provided.
Dot & Dab plasterboard walls are fine for oak floating shelf installations but always ensure the raw plugs provided are bedded into the masonary before fixings are installed. (please mention the dot & dab wall in the comments box and we will send extra long supports with the shelf).
Stud/Timber plasterboard walls are acceptable as long as the concealed supports are fixed directly into the timber studs; (for this method you will need to locate your timber stud positions and send these measurements to us so we can drill the shelf in the correct places for you). Oak shelves are too heavy for plasterboard wall fixings. (please mention the plasterboard wall in the comments box and let us know your timber stud locations for drilling the shelf).
The pictures in the listing are demonstrations only and not the oak shelves you will receive. All shelves are different in appearance and character. This is a natural oak floating shelf and the end result is only revealed after cutting and planing the oak boards to size. Your new oak floating shelf will of coarse be stunning and unique in either case!
